Mary Irwin - Voice
“As a teacher, my goal is to inspire a lifetime love of music by finding the joy and the fun in every song! Lyrics alone can be a window into ourselves and the world. I want to help people discover and explore their unique voice and use it to its full potential.”
Mary loves any song that tells a story, and so has a passion for musical theater and folk music. She studied vocal performance at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, where she expanded her love for classical repertoire. Mary has been teaching voice since 2011, taking some of those years off to focus on being a mom.
Mary enjoys continually expanding her knowledge and skills, as a teacher, so that she can meet each student where they are at. She studied vocal pedagogy at the VCM, and has also completed her Lovetri Somatic Voicework teacher training, a vocal pedagogy specializing in contemporary music (i.e. pop, musical theatre, etc). As a performer, Mary has sung with Pacific Opera Victoria and the Victoria Gilbert and Sullivan Society and has performed solo gigs around Victoria, California and Texas.
