ROCKSHOP CAMPS*

Seeking Singers, Guitarists, Bassists, Piano/Keyboards, Drummers! Rockshop Band Camp is an engaging youth rock band experience - a FUN camp for kids to learn and perform together, with age-appropriate songs and professional guidance. Using lively pop and rock repertoire, students improve their listening skills, learn to work in a group, choose suitable music and have a great time! These highly focused days pack a lot in, with in-depth rehearsals that boost musicianship in just one week! The last day of camp ends with a performance for families.

*A minimum of one season of lessons is recommended.

NOTE: Running in tandem with our Triple Threat, this Rockshop camp will be the supporting band for the Willie Wonka musical (see TRIPLE-THREAT MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP below!). They will also have the opportunity to explore repertoire of their choosing and will perform it all on the last day of camp. Extended hours until 3:30 will be necessary on Thursday and Friday.

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMPS

TRIPLE-THREAT CAMP (9-12 yrs)

July 14-18 (M-F) 9:00-3:30

With its upbeat songs and captivating storyline, Willie Wonka is a favourite musical among kids and adults alike. With this abridged version, including favourites like I’ve Got A Golden Ticket, I Want It Now and Oompa Loompa, we’ll sing, dance and act our way through the week, experiencing the true "Triple Threat" that is a musical theatre performer! This camp focuses on participants' artistic process and creative input within a safe place to explore, create, and make friends. Making props and costumes, painting sets and enjoying time at the park are all part of daily activities. The last day of camp ends with a performance for families. Come see the results of our campers' hard work toward creating a fantastic show!

TRIPLE-THREAT CAMP (6-8 yrs)

Show: Disney Spectacular!
Ages: 6-8
Cost: $425/week (Early Bird - $400 - until March 9)

We’ll sing, dance and act our way through the week with this medley of 21 classic Disney songs, experiencing what it means to be a "Triple Threat" musical theatre performer! This camp focuses on participants' artistic process and creative input within a safe place to explore, create, and make friends. Making props and costumes, painting sets and playing at the park are all part of the daily activities. The last day of camp ends with a performance for families. Come see the results of our campers' hard work toward creating a fantastic show!

MUSICAL THEATRE MASTERCLASS (13-17 yrs)

July 21-25 (M-F) 11:00-2:00
Ages: 13-17
Cost: $340/week (No early bird price for this camp)

Join NYC and touring Broadway Performer, Tara Heal, for this enriching week of musical theatre! Tara will guide the budding and motivated teen performer to feel comfortable with solo singing, acting through song, audition technique, cold readings/scene work with short scenes from well-known musicals, ensemble singing, tips for nerves, preparing the mind and body, and the chance to practice picking up movement/ dance choreography in the Musical Theatre style.

Students should come prepared with a musical theatre audition song that they know (melody and lyrics) that they are ready to practice in mini private coachings with Tara and accompanist, work up to sharing it in a masterclass setting with peers, and finally perform at the Friday showcase for family and friends alongside a group musical number!

KEYBOARD CLIMBERS PIANO CAMP

Ages: 6-13 (ages grouped within the camp: Mini 6-7, Midi 8-10, Max 11-13)

This piano-focused summer camp prepares kids to 'scale' the next musical mountain! Campers will learn valuable collaboration, leadership skills, piano musicianship, and basic music theory. Specially designed to cater to all skill levels and a wide range of ages, this camp guarantees students a lively week of music-making and summer fun! The last day of camp ends with a performance for families.

Camp leaders Mary Irwin and Isabella Jubb lead this lively summer camp. Their teaching expertise will guide group and individual piano play, traditional camp activities, and outdoor time.
