Nataliia Temnyk - Voice
“I believe our voice is our deep personal instrument. I wish to share my knowledge of the natural voice, breath control, and beautiful sound so my students feel confident in how they sing. I am excited to give my support to students of all ages and to foster that very important relationship between a teacher and student that allows learning to flourish.”
Nataliia has loved singing from the time she was a young girl, growing up in Ukraine. She went on to study at the National Academy of Music in Odesa, Ukraine where she received her PhD Advanced Diploma (Honours). Nataliia has coached young singers from all over Ukraine at the National Academy of Music, the Tetyana Boeva Music School of Odesa and the Glinka Music College in Kryvih Rih.
From 2019-2023, Nataliia lived and worked in London, England where she performed with Opera Viva and taught private voice lessons to students of all ages and abilities. Using a variety of genres, from musical theatre to classical to pop, Nataliia enjoys helping singers find their unique voice and to use it in a natural, healthy way.
Nataliia has won numerous vocal awards in both Ukraine and England. In 2022, she was invited by Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) for an Artist Residency and was guest of honour for the We Stand For Ukraine benefit concert. She fell in love with Canada and moved to Victoria in 2023. Nataliia teaches at the Victoria Conservatory of Music and performs regularly in the area. She is pleased to join the team at South Island Studio!
